Teen Behind the Wheel Course Information

Important Info as of 1/1/2021

• During this emergency period: Juvenile Licensing Ceremonies have been waived
  
• Individuals who have received a license from us dated (11/30/2020) and after will NOT have to attend a license ceremony.
  
• They will automatically receive their license in the mail directly from the DMV.
  
• Once the Governor has lifted the emergency period: courts will return to their regular licensing ceremonies within 90 days provided.
  

SA Driving School is Insured, Bonded, and Licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) of Commonwealth of Virginia.

• Flexible on the Weekends / Holidays

• If Before: Pickup at Home > Drop at School
• If After: Pickup at School > Drop at Home

- NO SANDALS/SLIPPERS/SLIDES WHILE DRIVING.

- FACE MASK/COVERING IS REQUIRED.

- CLASSES MIGHT GET CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER.

​- IF YOU START THE COURSE AND DO NOT RESPOND TO SA DRIVING FOR 30 DAYS, THEN THE COURSE WILL BE CANCELLED & NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED.

​Requirements for BTW

• DEC Pink Slip (Obtained from Guidance Counselor)
  
• 45hrs Training with Parents/Family (30h Day & 15h Night)*
  
• Photocopy of Learner's Permit (front)
  
• Hold Learner's Permit close to 9 Months
  
• ​SA Driving School Inc Parent's Contract
  
• *These are not driving lessons. For experienced drivers only.
  

Online Driver's Education

• Course Price: $150
  
• 36hrs Online Course + 90mins Parent Teen meeting included
  
• Certificate will be emailed upon completion
  
• Payment will be taken in advanced via online pay (Venmo).
  
• After payment, you will receive your User ID and Password to complete the course.

Course Info - Teen BTW under 18yrs

• Course Price: $300
  
• 7 Days Course - 2 x 50 minutes Lesson + Road Test on the 7th session
  
• Driving, Observation, & Road Test are included in BTW
  
• Pickup & Dropoff is free (within range)
  
• Sessions do not have to be consecutive
  
• Time of Operation: 7am-7pm (time varies)
  
• These are NOT Driving Lessons. You have to already be an experienced driver(45hrs minimum). This is an assessment course of your driving skills.
  
• If the instructor determines you are not ready for this course (1st session), then we will cancel the remaining sessions and you will be charged a $40 fee for the session.

​​Upon Completion of BTW

• Once completed, the teen receives a 180 days temporary driving license through SA Driving School
  

• ​Within 90-120 days of completion, you will receive an appointment letter from your local Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court to attend the licensing ceremony.
  

• Make a photocopy of your DTS-B form (Blue Temp License).
  

• During COVID, it will be an online licensing ceremony. After completion the license will be mailed to you.
  

• If you turn 18yrs old before the expiration date of your temporary license, then please visit the DMV directly to obtain your driver's license. Be sure to do this on your before or on your Birthday. Otherwise the temporary license expires on your 18th birthday.
  

• Court Ceremony attendance is still required if notified.​​
  

• Parents please be advised of restrictions for drivers under age 18, listed on DTS-B form (Temp License).
